Ready to make a real impact across a diverse portfolio of Westgold projects? We’re looking for an experienced and proactive Health & Safety Advisor to support our operations and help strengthen safety culture across multiple sites.



About the Role

Working on 8 days on, 6 days off roster, this mobile role forms a key part of the Projects & Operational Readiness Team. You’ll support the implementation and continual improvement of health and safety systems across a variety of Westgold project locations. This position is ideal for someone who thrives on variety, enjoys travelling between sites, and is passionate about influencing safe behaviours in dynamic operational environments.

You’ll provide WHS expertise, support incident management, drive proactive risk reduction initiatives, and work collaboratively with project, operational and leadership teams.



Key Responsibilities

Leadership & Accountability

  • Support WHS personnel and contribute to a strong, collaborative safety culture.
  • Assist in maintaining emergency response readiness and onsite medical capability.
  • Ensure operational teams understand and comply with WHS statutory requirements.
  • Provide guidance on incident reporting and support investigations.
  • Maintain statutory WHS records and support internal reporting obligations.
  • Deliver practical WHS advice to operational teams across multiple project sites.
  • Conduct risk assessments and support risk management strategies.

Planning

  • Assist in delivering the annual WHS strategic plan across projects.
  • Support audit and inspection schedules.
  • Help maintain site risk registers and training requirements.
  • Contribute to the development of site‑specific WHS procedures.

Performance Measurement & Reporting

  • Identify safety trends and support initiatives aimed at reducing incidents.
  • Prepare daily, weekly and monthly WHS reports as required.
  • Ensure investigation findings are recorded in INX.
  • Analyse WHS data and contribute to improvement solutions.
  • Support external safety reporting requirements (SRS).

General Duties

  • Support chemical and dangerous goods management (ChemAlert).
  • Maintain WHS and training systems (INX, LMS).
  • Assist with workers’ compensation compliance.
  • Participate in pre‑starts, toolbox meetings and other safety forums.
  • Complete tasks allocated by Senior WHS Advisors or WHS leadership.



What You’ll Bring

Skills & Competencies

  • Strong understanding of WHS legislation, risk management and mining hazards.
  • Experience in incident reporting and investigations.
  • Effective communication and stakeholder engagement skills.
  • Ability to work independently across multiple sites.
  • Strong hazard identification and risk assessment capabilities.

Qualifications – Essential

  • Certificate IV in Work Health and Safety.
  • 2–3 years’ experience in mining or heavy industry WHS.
  • Current WA C‑Class Driver’s Licence.
  • National Police Clearance (within 12 months).
  • HLTPAT005 – Specimen collection for drug & alcohol testing.

Desirable

  • Certificate III in Emergency Response & Rescue.
  • ICAM investigation training.
  • Certificate IV in Training & Assessment.
  • Current First Aid certificate.
